My family is also from San Donato. My fathers mothers maiden name was Cugini.
I live in Natick Mass.I have done some research on our family name Tempesta. I actually visited San Donato in the early 80's trying to connect the name back to San Donato. My fathers father was born in Marino Italy and his father came from San Donato. I was quite surprised when I visited how many Tempesta's there were. This all started from a picture that some one sent me of a famous artist who was born in Florence in the 1500's. His name was Antonio Tempesta. He settled in San Donato around 1530. All my grandparents going back three generations were all named Antonio. I am looking for any assistance in finding outfurther back. I would love to share any information that you might be looking for. Also would be interested in this Newton Connection
