on 12/25/02 at 2:48 PM Happy Holidays. My name is Nicholas Jacobs, a.k.a., Francisco Nicola Iacoboni. My grandfather came to Massachusetts from Alvito, Frosinone near Rome in the early 1900s. He worked in a toy factory near or in Wooster, MA. He moved onto Wisconsin to work as a lumber jack. Then he moved to Pittsburgh to help build the Highland Park Zoo and Mellon Square. Finally, he ended up at St.James Park, now Linden Hall near Dawson, Pennsylvania. My grandmother, Francisca Tata (Grandmother had a brother Marco who moved back to Alvito to retire) Pasquale had a brother Peter who died in the 30's and his wife and kids moved to Argentina. He also had a brother James and my grandfather had three children with my grandmother: Antonio, Alberto, and Amelia. They lived at Linden Hall for 50+ years. My father changed his name to Jacobs in the 30's due to the extreme prejudice toward Italians in that area. I'm the president of both a hospital and a research institute near Johnstown Pennsylvania where Flight 93 went down and the Quecreek miners were saved a few months ago.
