Unfortunately, I do not know how far Casacalenda's records go back. Try this site, www.geocities.com/duronia/calenda.html If this doesn't work just type in geocities.com to get to Casacalenda from there. It's the official site of Casacalenda. At the bottom of the web page, there is an area where you can click for english. I know that Casacalenda has a population of only 2500. That's pretty small and that's probably why things go at such a slow pace. But, in order to really do research, three hours just isn't enough! My father-in-law is from the same kind of town. The best place for keeping records in such a small town during the year that you are talking about, would be in the church. I am finding out while doing my geneaology research, that churches hold alot of info. Names are so important! A lot of immigrants to came to this country used variations of there names, especially their surnames. I'll see what else I can find out. My husband and I are going to be traveling to Italy sometime in the near future and we are going to Casacalenda. I'll help you out as I get info! Hey, maybe our relative's knew each other! Bye for now, keep in touch if you'd like by emailing me directly at: lisangrisani- AT - lycos.com! Follow Ups:
