Cifone Heritage Forums: Province of Matera

Posted by Lynne Sanders on 04/04/03 at 3:04 PM Subject:   Cifone I am looking for information on a frank Cifone, who was reportely born in San Mauro Forte, Matera, Basilicate, Italy. His father is listed on his us social security report as Michaelo Cifone and mother Mary Cervo. He is my grandfather and i am working on a family tree. I wish to know what is the meaning of Cifone, or is it a diffrent spelling of another surname. Also if I may obtain more information for the family tree great. Frank birth date is given as Nov 1 or 2 1887 or 1886 it depends on what document you look at. Any help would be welcomed.
