Ruggiero/Caputo/Preore/Viola Heritage Forums: Province of Matera

Posted by Paul Corbin on February 16, 2005 at 04:43:07: My Great Grand father was Alberto Ruggiero. His wife was Elisabetta Caputo. Both were born in Italy around the 1850's. Their son Pasquale Ruggiero was my Grand father. Pasquale came to the states around 1896 and lived first in New Jersey, then in Philadelphia. [Dickinson St. in 1910] He had a brother: Alberigo and 2 sisters: Carmenela and Rose. Pasquale married Maria Preore in 1902[?]. Of that marriage 11 children were born: Elisabeth,Pasqual,[Albert,Mary,Albina,Albert,Mary,all died very young]Albina,Rosie and Peggy and 1unknown. Albina, [my mother] is the only living child.[95] As far as I can tell, Alberto and Elisabetta never came to the U.S. I think she had a brother [Pietro] living in Jersey around 1900??
