looking for Laviolas Heritage Forums: Province of Matera

Posted by Sara Laviola Ward on March 30, 2005 at 20:44:50: HI - My grandparents came to NY in the early 1900s - my guess is before 1920. My grandfather, Peter Salvatore Laviola had a brother (I only knew him as Uncle Lou) Louis Laviola came with him. My grandmother, Antoinette Parziale (spelling?) came with her sisters Carmella and Grace. Ultimately they all settled in the NYC area. My grandparents, Peter and Antoinette were married, lived in Little Italy, NYC and then moved to Astoria, Queens with their 6 kids, including my Dad) before retiring in West Babylon NY. Does this sound at all familiar to anyone? I would LOVe to know more about their lives... Thanks!
