Posted by Carolyn McDaniel on July 04, 2006 at 01:39:41: I am looking for information and possible contact with living family members for my great grandmother Anna/Marianna Romeo. She was the daughter of Giuesseppe Romeo and Maria Rosa. She was born in or about 1874. She Immigrated to the United States to New Yorks Ellis Island in 1910 to the home of her brother Giovanni Romeo who had immigrated earlier to Illinois where he worked in the coal mines. I did not know my great grandmother, all I know is she was supposed to be from Orti Ferisie Italy, Reggio Calabria. She is buried in Illinois. She married John Frosco born Giovanni Battista Ludovico Frasca from Canischio Italy in 1935 in Illinois. They had one son together Joseph Frosco. Giovanni Frasca immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island in 1900. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hoping someone can put me in touch with living Romeo family members from that Area.
