Posted by Carolyn McDaniel on July 04, 2006 at 01:53:14: I am searching for information on my great grandmother who immigrated to the Untied States via Ellis Island in 1910. Anna/ Marianna Romeo was listed as having left the Port of Naples her last foreign residence was listed as Orti, Reggio Calabria Italy. She immigrated to Illinois where she lived for a period of time with her brother who paid her passage Giovanni Romeo. He worked in the coal mines in Southern Illinois. We are in hopes of finding some living relatives who might be able to help us with information on our great grandmothers siblings and ancestors. Anna was the daughter of Giuesseppe Romeo and Maria Rosa. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
