Posted by Karen Winkler Fragassi on September 13, 2006 at 22:55:01: Giovanni Batista Amoroso or Ambrosio was born around 1845 in the month of June. I am assuming he was from Calabria, where two of his children were born in the 1870's. He married Maria Barlotti (born May 1845), he worked as a shoemaker... They moved to San Francisco around 1880 and had one daughter there. There is some uncertainty about which version of Ambrose they were actually born with. Children's names Antonio (born May 1869), Frank M.(born March 1872), and Rose Marie (born February 1883) They are all in the 1900 census of San Francisco.
