My family has traveled to different parts of the US and abroad and never been able to locate a Scriveri. He died in 1973, I believe. I realize that he either allowed them to misspell his name when he came in to this country and then continued that spelling or came in under a different spelling than Scriveri, but then when back to spelling it the correct way once he was here. Just because there are no Scriveri's in Italy (or anywhere else, for that matter) does not mean there never were, of course. As I said, he only had one sibling, and she was a sister, who married. Still, don't there have to be birth records/church records somewhere in Calabria to show his birth and then baptism? Thank you, and I will try to contact the Social Security agency, but I suspect that will just show that he did work all his life in America and the spelling he used was: S-c-r-i-v-e-r-i. Thanks, again, and I'll keep plugging! Pat Scriveri Post a Followup
