Posted by annemarie Young on 07/29/03 at 12:28 PM Subject:   giordano/spenelli/tropeano/carullo all four names in the subject were the names of my grandparents (maiden names included) they all came from this region. Montefredane specifically when taking about my grandpa Antonio Giordano and his Mother Virginia Spenelli. They had a farm their. my grandfather was born there in 1901 and died in new york in the 1980's. His mother Virginia Spenelli died in the 1950's though her name would be Virginia giordano. She was married Joseph Giordano and had Antonio, Luigi, Maria (she still living as of 1996 in Montefredane), and Joseph. My grandmother Adeline Tropeano (married name giordano) came to america with mother concetta carullo who has a brother sabato, joseph back in 1923 they lived in Avellino via madonnella. Adeline's siblings were Raffaele, assunta,rose,vincenzo,carmine,and sabina(she died in Italy the same time as her dad around 1921.) who was named Angelo Tropeano.
