Posted by Pete Genova on 11/04/03 at 2:08 PM Subject:   DeMattia & Galasso/ Salza Irpina Hello, I'm trying to find other persons who may have relatives in Salza Irpina or Sorbo Serpico with the surnames of De Mattia or Galasso. My great-great-grandparents were Alfonso De Mattia and Julia (Giulia?) Galasso. Alfonso was born in 1855 or 1856. They had 4 children, Sabino (my gr-grandfather, b. 1882), Eduardo, Vincenzo, and Rubina. Ellis Island Records show that Alfonso travelled to Boston in 1893 & 1898. Sabino then came to Boston in 1901 and eventually retired to south Florida in the 1950s. If anyone shares these relatives, or also shares a common surname from these towns, I would like to hear from you.
