Posted by Ed Criscuolo on May 26, 2004 at 15:06:06: Looking for information on the Criscuolo (Criscuoli) family name. I have traced my family name back to Matteo Criscuoli, born in 1753 in Contrada, which was then a part of Basilicata provence, but now is in Avellino, Campania. Matteo was the son of Nicola, and was married to Agnese Luciano (born circa 1760). Their eldest son was Dominicantonio, born in April 1785. Shortly after Dominicantonio was born, the family moved to Venafro, where they had 7 more children. I have a fairly complete history from that point forward. I'm interested in finding the name of Matteo's mother, and trying to push this Criscuolo line farther back. Also interested in any collateral lines in Contrada that descended fron Nicola. And of course I'd be happy to share the info I do have.
