Posted by Roberto Bongo on October 22, 2004 at 14:43:18: My grandfather, Luigi Bongo came from Ariano Irpino. His brothers were Domenico and Antonio Bongo. His sisters were Raffaella Bongo Ficera and Maria Libera Bongo ????. We can't find any information on Maria Libera. Some say that she left Ariano for America with her godmother. Some names of possible familys she married into are: Ferrara, Rossi, Compitello, DellaPoete, Colletti and maybe Ciccolini. We belive they lived in New Rochell, NY area. There is some talk about moving to Falls Church VA. Maria was born in Ariano in 1876. We only know that Antonio was born in 1881. Does anyone know any family connections here??? My great grandparents were Pasquale Bongo 1847 and Rosa d'Alessio 1850. When Rosa died, Pasquale married a Raimonda Iodice.
