Posted by Kurt Odenwald on July 22, 2005 at 08:52:07: My Great-Grandfather, Carlo Forni was born in Ronco Campo Canneto, Trescali Commune, Parma Province about 1859. He married Prependina Ranieri in 1889 and they had a son Salvatore Forni on 1 April 1890. I would like to write to any other family researcher whose lines correspond with this family group. I also could use some advice... which town would be the best likely source for church records? Civil registrations? Was there such a thing as an intent to immigrate notice that would have been recorded in 1890 when they sailed for Philadelphia? Which ports of debarcation would be most likely?
