Posted by Carl Caracia on 08/24/03 at 1:28 PM Subject:   Searching Family Caraccia, Pacentro, L'Aquila & Sulmona I am searching for family in Pacentro / Sulmona and the surrounding areas. My Grandfather was Gaetano Luigi Caraccia, born Sept. 7, 1874, Pacentro. His parents were Vincenzo Caraccia and Antionette DeSantis(?). Gaetano sailed to the U.S. about 1891 settleing in Pittsburgh, PA. He had 5 siblings, (sisters and brothers)Luigi, Carlo, Frank(sp?), Bernice(sp?), and Virginia(sp?). The sisters remained in Pacentro. Luigi 'may' have emigrated to the U.S., but he may have also returned to Italy in the early 1900's. Carlo & Frank stayed in the U.S. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Grazia!
