Posted by george on April 08, 2007 at 16:26:33: My great-grandfather CARMINE COLANGELO (b 8 Aug 1875, d 14 Sep 1954)married MARIANNA DIPAOLO in Italy. CARMINE, MARIANNA,and their three children CONCEZIO, IDA, and JULIAN are listed in the 1920 census for Egg Harbor, NJ. CONCEZIO (my grandfather) was born on 8 Dec 1904 in Prezzia, L'Aquila, Abruzzo Italy. He died on 10 May 1966 in Galloway Township, NJ Grandpop married LIVIA DIPAOLO on 14 Jan 1932 in Boiano, Campobasso, Abruzzo, Italy. From what I can gather, Carmine came over around 1905(?) and is rumored to have gone to work in the coal mines of Penslyvannia to earn enough money to build a hous and bring his family over. He chose to settle in Egg Harbor, NJ. Concezio returned in 1932 to marry Livia. Livia said she came over months later after some paperwork was completed. Julian went on to college and became a teacher and guidance counselor in Silver Spring, MD. Ida stayed in Egg Harbor and married and had three children.
