Coming to visit Bugnara/Sulmona in Sept/Oct 2007. Hoping to locate our extended Colangelo and DiTommaso family members still living in the area. My grandparents, Cesidio Colangelo and Filamena DiTommaso were from Bugnara and married on June 23, 1932 in the Church located in the center of Bugnara, thought to be "Church of the Rosario". After many trips to work in the United States by my Grandfather and after marrying my grandmother.... they relocated to the United States together in 1937. While my grandfather, Cesidio Colangelo, worked in the USA from 1923 to 1930's, he sent money back home to his parents to help build a new home for them in Bugnara. During our trip to Bugnara in October 2000, we located that home at the top of the mountain directly under the Bell Tower with Clock that my grandmother always told us about. Grandma (known to us as "Nunny") told us that she had no address of the property but said to locate the Bell Tower and walk in under the arch of the tower and she said "the first door on the right was the house". Needless to say, when we located that door in October 2000, we were overwhelmed with excitement and emotion that we this was the home of my GrandParents built from LOVE and MUCH HARDWORK from my Grandpa (known as "Bobo" to us). It is now with GREAT EXCITEMENT that we prepare for our 2nd trip to Bugnara with mcuh hope that we meet more of our Extended Family. Please send us a response if you know of any COLANGELO's and DiTommaso's in the area of Bugnara/Sulmona. We'd love to meet them. Molto Grazie & Molto Amor!
