My grandmother, Lena Tamburino (or a similar sounding name) came to USA in early 1900's, before 1910. She left unmarried. Immigration document says place of origin was "Angonia".. Could this be Agnone in Molise region or possibly Ancona, from which she may have sailed? She married Giuseppe Valente (probably from Napoli) in New York in 1910. She died in New York in 1969 at the age of about 77. She always said she was "from Abruzzi" If anyone knows of this family, please let me know. I will be staying in L'Aquila in July for three days and plan to travel in search of clues. Any help would be most gratefully appreciated.
