Posted by Jean Angle on 01/19/03 at 10:35 AM Subject:   Location of la pista "Piagiolino" Reference: Monterado and location of WW II flying field called "Piagiolino" My husband flew P-51 Fighters in the USAir Force in 1944-1945. He flew from a captured German field the Americans called Piagiolino. Can anyone in Monterado confirm approximate location of this place? I was given information from Edi Eusebi of Mondolfo that Piagiolino la pista in years 1944-1945 was located below village of Monterado. Any information our Italian friends have relative to this will be received with much gratitude. We will arrive again to your area in May 2004, on my husband's 80th Birthday. Our first time in the area was 1995 and 1996. We thought the air field "Piagiolino" was near Castelleone di Suasa but now believe we may have been mistaken. Signed: Sra.
