Does anyone know about cutlery made in Montagano? When my gram
came to America from Montagano in 1896 she brought few things with
her, one being a tiny fork and knife set. She gave these to me as a
wedding gift. The knife is not sharp, probably a spreader type. The
fork has sharp tines, perhaps to stab olives. no one seems to know
what the metal is, is has never tarnished, but it is definitly not
stainless steel. On the top of one of the handles is a swadled baby. On
the back of the fork and knife it is stamped, "MONTAGANO." I treasure
these and would like to know more about them. Please help if you can.
