Hello Everyone, I am not a Caliandro, but am doing some research for my cousins. My Dad's firt cousin married Aria Joseph Caliandro. "Joe's" father, Angelo Caliandro immigrated to the U.S. on Sept. 24, 1921 from Naples, Italy to New York (Ellis Island) aboard the ship Guglielmo Peirce. He gave his father's name as Michael Caliandro in the manifest and that he was from San Giorgio, Italy. Angelo eventually came to the City of Alexandria, Virginia (USA) and married a woman by the name of Mary J. (surname unknown). The family was listed in the 1930 census as follows: Angleo (head) age 27; Mary J. (wife) age 26; Michael A.(son) age 4; Mary J. (dau) age 3; Vito V. B. (son); age 1 9/12....and later there were Aria Joseph (born 1933); and Rachael. Aria Joseph Caliandro died on Feb. 19, 1974 at the age of 40, and as I said he married my cousin, Grace Elizabeth Baldwin. Grace just passed away on November 23, 2004 in Gardiner, Maine (USA). Thanks to anyone who might be able to help. Sincerely, Wayne F. Baldwin
