: : My grandmother Maria Martocchia, and her sisters, Evelyn, Rose, and Betty, and brother, Dominick, all came to Hartford, CT about 75-85 years ago. They were from Popoli, Pescara. I am a student at Fairfield University, in Fairfield, Connecticut, and will be studying in Italy during my junior year--I'll be sure to check out the old hometown!

Geoff,

I goofed on my follow-up. It looks like your message came from me. Anyway, I think I got it now.

Thank you for your e.message. I do not recall all that I sent you initially. Did I say that my grandfather was Camillo? If my memory serves me right, his father was Vincenzo whose wife, my great grandmother, died at a young age. He, then, remarried. His new wife, my step-great grandmother, was an Antonucci. I'm not certain, but I believe her first name was Anna. My mother, Concetta, spoke very warmly of her. She said that she and her siblings were treated, not as the proverbial step-grandchildren, but rather as biological grandchildren.

I wish I had more to tell you. Perhaps more will come to me later.

Who do you have left from the Martocchia side. Is your surname Martocchia?

This is very exciting to me. Please keep in touch. La famiglia e tutto.

Rossana
