I've just come from the Library of Congress where there's an excellent history of Molise. Abruzzo and Molise were one region until the 1960's. While at the library I found "Il Molise dalle origini...." It has detailed histories on all the towns and hamlets in Molise. So if the two towns that you mention were ever part of Abruzzi-Molise, then there's a good chance you'll find your answers in "Il Molise dalle origini..." by Giambattista Masciotta.
Here's the Library of Congress call number: DG975.M66 M37 1988. You can go to the Library of Congress online catalog at http://catalog.loc.gov/
The only other copy I know of is in the Princeton, New Jersey, public library.
