: Does anyone know of a good source of history of these two towns? I been to their web sites (http://www.casteldisangro.com/default.htm and
: http://utenti.tripod.it/ROCCACINQUEMIGLIA/), but am curious if there is any other source of history of these two towns. Thanks,

Good evening.
If you can find it anywhere, read Negli Abruzzi (In the Abruzzi) by Anne Macdonnell. She travelled there in the early 1900s and took an American water colour painter with her. Beautiful water colour of the village at the turn of the last century. Anne's words on R5M are very enlightening.
She also writes about Castel di Sangro.
Vincenzo Santucci has just put out a book on the old times of the village, but I think you would be more interested in the 1800s and 1900s - and Anne's words are a start. If I can find anything else I shall let you know.
Auguri,

michelangelo
