I have gathered a lot of information from the Ellis Island website which you can search a database for all of the immigrants who came to New York through Ellis Island from 1892 to 1924. I looked up the name Guerino D'Ascenzo for you and this is what was listed on the manifest for a ship called the Roma which arrived in New York on October 25, 1905 (the other names listed are who Guerino D'Ascenzo was traveling with from Montepagano):
0023. D'Ascenzo, Carlo M 33y M Italy, South Montepagano
0024. Galletto, Domenico M 34y M Italy, South Montepagano
0025. Pomante, Antonio M 36y M Italy, South Montepagano
0026. D'Ascenzo, Guerino M 24y M Italy, South Montepagano
You can usually get some information from the orginal manifest. If you want to check out the website it is www.ellisislandrecords.org
My grandmother's name was Filomena Santarelli and her family was from Taranta Peligna, Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy.
