I know very little of my grandmother. She went by Frances M. but I believe her real name was Maria Francesca. The only document I have is her SS# application, where the name is Siriani. I often wondered when she came here if they spelled it wrong on arrival and she never changed it.
Here's what I do know -
Her father was Paul and her mother was Filomena Iarussi.
Siblings - Joseph, Andre, Michelene, Gene
Concetto, Anna and Emilia
I believe only Emilia came to the USA. Emilia came with a friend. My grandmother came with an Uncle (who may have been a dr.) and possibly came in through Philadelphia. I do know my grandmothe was 18 when she came here, about 1916.
Anything sound familiar?
Anyway - thank you for responding. Oh, one other thing. My grandmother often said she grew up by the Sea in what she called a castle!
