Hi Rose,
My name's Antonia Daluiso. I don't know if my information will be any
help to, but it sounds like our families were from the same area.
My Grandfather's name was Francesco Daluiso, originally D'Aloisio. He
immigrated to Philadelphia with his mother from the town of Torino Di
Sangro in 1913, when he was a small child. His father's name was
Francesco Massarini D'Aloisio, and it seems that he came to America
shortly before my grandfather, because it's stated that they were going
to meet him in Philadelphia.
It's unclear what town my great grandfather came from, because I
don't have his ship record, and I think he must have died or
abandoned the family, because he was never mentioned by my
grandfather of great-grandmother. I assume he was from a town in
the Chieti region as well. I don't think it's Torino di Sango, because the
town doesn't have anyone with the last name D'Aloisio listed. They do
have my grandmother's last name which was Peluzzi.
If I find any more information, I'll let you know. I'd love to hear more
about your findings as well! Good Luck to you!
Sincerely,
Antonia Daluiso
