Cataldi & Pelagatti Connection in early 1900's or before

I'm looking to see if there's any family connection between the Cataldi's & Pelagatti's. I lost my daughter last year due to a rare genetic disorder and the researcher believes it may be linked to mine & my husband's families being from the same town Chieti in Italy, but this would be a few generations back. we were both born in the states, he's from Delaware and I'm from Pennsylvania. any help would be great, i don't know where to start.
