Aurelio Cianfarani, b. 1851; Sons Phillippe, Joseph

I have posted in another forum and, at the time, was very confused about the family names and relationships.Aurelio, a widower, and his sons emigrated to the US about 1882 or 1883.

Aurelio died 1923 in Chicago. Worked as a tailor. Phillippe Lorenzo, born 10 May 1874, became Phil Farren. Joseph L. (Guiseppe?) was born 10 Jan 1876, died Columbia City, Whitley County, Indiana, 1906.

Phil and Joe were tailors, and Phil was also a musician. He became well known as a musician in NE Indiana and as the founder of the local high school band and other area high school bands.

I have found some ship passenger lists that correspond to the dates they allegedly arrived. One source, the Whitley County Historical Bulletin, states that they embarked from Naples, Feb 1, 1884 with 65 other passengers, and arrived NY Feb 27.

The 1900 Census says that Aurelio and Joseph came in 1882, Philip in 1883.

They knew a Bonfiglio family in Elkhart, but that may have been a later association with nothing to do with their origin.

I would love to get more information about the family and the locale, including old maps and places to contact for birth information. Thanks in advance for any help.
