Hi Susan,yes your father would be right. My cousins own one of the largest biscuit manufacturing companies in the UK "International Wafer Co" established in 1912 as a bakery manufacturing cones and wafers and now called International Biscuit Company (IBC) still is in Manchester and also still makes ice cream cones and wafers. My grandfather Antonio Antonelli,a cousin,also from Picinisco, went to Helensburgh and then onto Dunoon, Scotland where I was born. He also had an Ice Cream and confectionary business. Depending on the year of your visit to Manchester your father would have met with Romolo,Luigi,Ernest,Roland or Victor Antonelli. They have a web site www.antonelli.co.uk/ If these names are familiar to him we no doubt are related and I may be able to help you with some of your family tree.
