thanks joanna - do you think it's possible to find a rented room? i have been wanting to go myself ...is it possible to travel up there from rome without a car? i too am a single woman and was a bit apprehentious about traveling alone...however i have lived many years in extreme rustic mountain conditions so i know about village life(although my italian is terrible)..thanks alot , i hope you have a great time!
