Hi, I live in Sora about a one hour drive over the mountains from San Donato. You could take a train from Rome Termini to Frosinone and then probably a bus. The bus will stop in every little town, it will be a great sightseeing tour but will likely take hours. (I haven't checked the schedule.) You might want to rent a car (but driving here is scary). If you know someone who can take you you will get to spend some time in San Donato. Otherwise you might plan to stay the night there.
