I also grew up in Newton, Ma. My father Loreto (Larry) left San Donato in 1920 at age 12. Lived in Brighton but settled in Newton. My sister is still living in Newton in the house my grandfather Giuseppe purchased in 1925.
I will be taking my first trip to Italy in late September with my wife and at the end of the tour in October we will spend 2 or three days in San Donato.
I don't know if we have any relatives left in San Donato but I will be trying to find where my father and relatives lived and information on my great grandparents etc. Hopefully I will be able to get some information before I leave to help me in searching for my Leone family roots. I will also be looking for Antonellis family information as my mothers father was an Antonellis and was also from San Donato.
Have you had any luck in your search for relatives?
