Hi Ann, I dont have any details where they were from, im afraid, only the rumour, that it "was near Rome"its not much to go on, im afraid!!
The only other posssible clue, is that they may have gone to America before coming to England, though i find this hard to believe, but you never know.
I have checked on Ellis island site and nothing.
