I have just discovered this site and searched my last name where I came to your post.I am not sure where S.Ambrogio sul Garigliano is, but maybe there is some relation.I live in Troy, Mi and my old boss was a Simone.i do believe the family is northern Italian, where my family(Simeone) is from Southern Italy.Canna,Cosenza di Calabria.
Maybe a relation? I am curious.
