Village of late grandmother

My family is trying to find the village in the Potenza Province where my late grandmother was born. Her family name was Cerone. She called her village San Ghidega (I know this is probably the wrong spelling--but it sounds like Geedega). Apparently my great grandfather, her father, painted the murals in the town cathedral/church there. We cannot find any village with even a close sounding name as this. Does anyone have knowledge of this village, its location or its correct spelling??
