My grandfather, Felice Morreo, was from Montefalcione, my grandmother from Lapio. Both settled in the North End of Boston, he in 1901, she in 1907. Their daughter, Lillian (my aunt) was engaged to Angelo Polcari, from Montefalcione. He was killed 3 days before the war in Europe (WWII) ended. He was my father's best friend. I can't help you in Italy, but I was so amazed to see a Polcari on this list that I had to respond. (They also started Polcari's restaurant in the North End in the 1950s; I don't think they hired anyone but immigrants from Avellino! Now it's a coffee shop).
