Do plan to visit the Certosa di Trisulti near Veroli. They have a website in English with hours etc. They have a fantastic pharmacy that is 400 years old with murano glass jars. Its a very special place. The monks who do the tour don't speak English as I recall which is too bad as the place has a fascinating history.
Research won't be easy. The town office is busy and the clerk is not really excited about doing research. The priest is also busy and usually won't look anything up unless you have dates as the books have no indexes.
If you do plan to do some research then you should go to the town office with a written request on the first day and expect to have to return. The priest you should try to contact before 9am in the morning at his home.
